Logistics Coordinator (Import / Export)

Nature One Dairy is dedicated to producing only the highest quality powdered and liquid milk products. We produce a range of dairy products specifically designed for every age group ranging from infants to the elderly and everything in-between. With the manufacturing site located in Carrum Downs Victoria, our vision is to be a Global Dairy Company. 

Nature One Dairy is certified by the Department of Agriculture to be an Export Registered Establishment as having achieved standards in good hygienic practice, HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), product integrity and importing country requirements. We are also a licensed facility by Dairy Food Safety Victoria (DFSV).

About the role:

The Logistics Coordinator (Import / Export) is responsible for overseeing and facilitating our entire supply chain operation by coordinating the distribution of goods through personnel and processes ensuring our operation is cost-effective and runs smoothly and efficiently. This includes being responsible for the acquisition, distribution, and transportation of goods (including importing and exporting) from the manufacturer to the consumer and holds joint responsibility for warehousing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice logistics strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance

  • Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customers

  • Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies and processes across the organization to improve operational and financial performance

  • Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements

  • Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs

  • Recommend optimal transport modes, routes, or frequency

  • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issues

  • Review impact of logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or carriers and report results to others

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities

  • Ensure the integrity of inventory accuracy and manage stock movements with help of warehouse personnel

  • Identify and resolve any inventory discrepancies and ensure inventory and system records are in agreement

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all connected with the logistics process

  • Ensure all completed orders are dispatched on time

  • Ensure products are shipped appropriately to ensure quality of goods during transportation

  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations/customs regulations and legal and health and safety requirements

  • Fulfil other duties as required by management and other department personnel as requested/required.

Key Requirements:

  • Prior experience of working in logistics/supply chain/transportation function within the food manufacturing environment with a comprehensive knowledge of logistics processes and procedures

  • Expert knowledge of technical regulations related to logistics such as import/export and customs regulations

  • High degree of knowledge and understanding of a variety of manufacturing processes and components and of supply chain management

  • Strong IT systems knowledge and skills including knowledge and understanding of specialist systems such as SAP ERP, BOM, inventory, and warehouse management

  • Advanced Excel user

  • Highly skilled communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally

  • Proven analytical, problem solving and organizational skills

  • Commercial and financial acumen with a full understanding of the impact of failure in terms of business cost, production schedules, and customer order fulfilment

  • Excellent attention to detail skills.
