Wilson Transformer Company builds and services transformers that keep Australia's power grid running. This isn't parcels and pallets — it's heavy, complex, high-stakes logistics across road, rail, and sea.
The role
You'll own end-to-end and be a commercially savvy transport and logistics leader who will operate for the Service Business Unit — from planning oversize/overmass heavy haulage, managing international freight and emergency response when a critical transformer goes down to network optimisation. You'll work across service, engineering, and project teams, so you need to be someone who has worked in a Project environment and a persion who can drive improvements and get buy in with internal and external stakeholders.
What you'll actually be doing
- Managing transport across road (big big trucks), rail, and sea — including oversize and overmass movements
- Building logistics plans tied to service projects and outage schedules across Aus
- Managing freight suppliers, contractors, and crane companies as International grows
- Keeping WHS, chain-of-responsibility, and NHVR compliance tight
- Controlling transport budgets and finding efficiencies without cutting corners on safety
What we're looking for
You don't need to have worked in transformers before — but you do need the right attitude and some heavier Transport experience and a solid understanding of what compliant, complex transport actually looks like on the ground.
- Background in transport and logistics within industrial or heavy industry environments
- Hands-on experience with freight management, warehousing, and transport planning
- WHS and chain-of-responsibility knowledge — you know the rules and you follow them
- Strong communicator who can manage suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Someone who takes ownership and doesn't wait to be told what to do and is solution minded
The juice..
Wilson Transformer Company isn't just another business, it's measured and calm, ridiculously innovative and interesting — they have a clear vision, leaders who genuinely care about their people the their development, and a product that Australia literally cannot function without. Demand for their transformers isn't slowing down anytime soon.
