UA HOLDINGS PTY LTD is a growing Australian cosmetics and personal care manufacturing company based in Altona North, Victoria.

We specialize in the development and manufacturing of cosmetic and therapeutic products, including TGA-regulated sunscreen products, and work closely with both domestic and international customers to deliver high-quality formulation and manufacturing solutions.

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated R&D Manager to lead our product development and formulation activities and support the continued growth of our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the research and development function across cosmetic and therapeutic product categories;

  • Manage formulation development projects, including product design, laboratory testing, stability testing and manufacturing scale-up;

  • Drive formulation optimisation to improve product performance, manufacturability and cost efficiency;

  • Provide technical leadership in formulation troubleshooting and manufacturing support;

  • Ensure R&D activities comply with relevant GMP and regulatory requirements, including TGA-related standards where applicable;

  • Support preparation and maintenance of technical and formulation documentation;

  • Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance and Supply Chain teams to support successful product commercialisation;

  • Coordinate with suppliers and technical partners regarding raw materials, formulation technologies and product development opportunities;

  • Lead and mentor technical staff within the R&D department;

  • Monitor industry trends, ingredient developments and formulation technologies relevant to cosmetic and therapeutic products.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science or related field;

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in cosmetic, personal care or related formulation and product development environments;

  • Strong technical knowledge in cosmetic formulation, product development and manufacturing processes;

  • Experience working within GMP-regulated manufacturing environments;

  • Understanding of formulation troubleshooting, manufacturing scale-up and product optimization;

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills;

  • Previous leadership or team management experience will be highly regarded.
