Bellcore is currently partnering with a nationally recognised, science-based arboricultural and urban forestry consultancy experiencing strong growth across Australia. The organisation provides independent, evidence-led advisory services focused on trees, vegetation and urban forest ecosystems. Its work supports clients in managing vegetation within complex built environments while meeting regulatory, planning and environmental objectives.
 
Services include arborist reporting for planning approvals, tree risk and condition assessments, vegetation management for infrastructure corridors, urban forest and canopy strategies, soil and pest analysis, and climate resilience programs. Clients include local and state government authorities, utilities, infrastructure owners, developers, asset managers and planners responsible for vegetation management across urban and peri-urban environments.The business is entering a significant expansion phase, driven by increasing demand from councils, infrastructure owners and utilities seeking more sustainable approaches to managing trees and urban canopy within the built environment.

OPPORTUNITY
 
An opportunity now exists for an Operations Manager to join the leadership team and play a pivotal role in supporting the company’s next phase of growth. Reporting to the Directors, the Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring projects, consulting engagements and field operations are delivered efficiently, consistently and to a high professional standard. This role focuses on bringing operational structure and cohesion to a growing services business, ensuring the internal systems, scheduling and resource allocation are aligned with increasing project demand. Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing day-to-day operational delivery across consulting and field services
  • Implementing and refining operational processes and SOPs to support business growth
  • Managing scheduling and coordination of consulting resources across multiple projects
  • Ensuring the correct personnel are allocated to project briefs and client requirements
  • Conducting field audits to maintain service quality and operational standards
  • Supporting equipment planning and operational logistics as services expand
  • Working closely with business development to ensure seamless client delivery
  • Driving operational accountability and continuous improvement across the organisation
  • Supporting the development of scalable systems and workflows for national expansion
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operations professional to join a purpose-driven organisation operating at the intersection of environmental science, infrastructure and urban planning.
 
The position is based in Huntingdale, VIC, with flexibility to work from home a few days per week.

CANDIDATE
 
The ideal candidate will bring strong operational experience within a services-based business, with exposure to environments where field teams, project delivery and client service intersect. Candidates from construction, infrastructure, environmental services, consulting or related sectors will be highly regarded.
 
Key attributes include:
  • Proven experience in operations management within a service-driven business
  • Strong organisational and process development capability
  • Experience coordinating teams and managing project workflows
  • Ability to implement operational structure within a growing organisation
  • High level of integrity and commitment to service quality
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable working within a collaborative leadership team
Highly regarded but not essential:
  • Background in plant science disciplines such as Botany, Horticulture or Arboriculture
  • Experience working with councils, infrastructure projects or environmental consulting
  • Exposure to field-based service delivery operations
