Production Operator / Maintenance Technician  (Day / Afternoon / Night Shift) (Trade Qualified)

Local Workforce is a recruitment firm that has been asked to hire three full-time positions for our paper manufacturing client in Laverton.

We are hiring THREE People - Full-Time Positions.

One full-time day shift position (Starts at 6.00 am to 2.00 pm)
One full-time afternoon shift position (Starts 2.00 pm to 10 pm)
One full-time night shift position (starts 10.00 pm to 6.00 am)

Hourly rate is $45 to 60per hour, plus Super.

About the role:

The Production Operator / Maintenance Technician is responsible for operating production equipment while also supporting preventative maintenance and troubleshooting activities to ensure reliable and efficient manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery safely and efficiently
• Set up machines for production runs
• Monitor machine performance and production quality
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance on equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues
• Assist with machine changeovers and adjustments
• Work closely with the maintenance team to minimise downtime
• Maintain production records and machine logs
• Ensure all safety procedures are followed
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across production

Skills & Experience

• Trade qualification required (Mechanical Fitter, Electrician or similar)
• Experience operating manufacturing or converting equipment is preferred
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions
• Experience in preventative maintenance programs
