The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations across all Blitz Bar stores in Victoria. This role leads and supports the store Supervisors to maintain the highest standards of customer service, cleanliness, operational excellence, and team connection. The Operations Manager reports directly to the Co-Founders and acts as a key leadership figure in driving consistency, accountability, and culture across all locations.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management
- Directly manage and coach Store Supervisors across all Blitz Bar locations.
- Foster a high-performing, positive team culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and customer
excellence.
- Actively assist supervisors in achieving high standards in-store - coaching on customer service, team engagement, store presentation, and leadership skills.
- Provide input into supervisor promotions, ensuring readiness for leadership roles
- Lead and run a structured Managers Meeting every 2 months, fostering collaboration and sharing best practices across stores.
Store Operations Oversight
- Visit each store at least once per week, providing hands-on support, operational reviews, and coaching to supervisors.
- Ensure daily operations at each store meet Blitz Bar's standards for service, cleanliness, food safety, and team management.
- Oversee that supervisors complete ordering correctly and maintain stock levels.
- Ensure supervisors maintain strong operational compliance, particularly in preparation for audits, food inspections, and council requirements.
Customer Service & Brand Standards
- Be obsessive about the customer experience - ensuring stores consistently deliver fast, friendly, and memorable service.
- Monitor customer feedback and store performance, taking proactive steps to improve satisfaction and loyalty.
- Uphold Blitz Bar's brand presentation standards across all stores, including store layout, signage, cleanliness, and service rituals.
New Store Openings & Expansion Support
- Play a key role in supporting operational setup for any new Blitz Bar store openings.
- Assist with onboarding new teams, setting operational routines, and ensuring new stores open in line with Blitz Bar standards.
Systems, Training & SOP Implementation
- Support the rollout of new systems, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and training initiatives across all stores.
- Ensure supervisors are properly trained and consistently applying operational procedures.
What Success Looks Like
- All stores run consistently, cleanly, and professionally - no matter the day or location.
- Store Supervisors are confident, capable leaders who deliver strong customer service and team management without constant escalation.
- New systems and operational improvements are rolled out smoothly across locations.
- Customer complaints are minimal; customer praise is frequent.
- Stores pass compliance checks and food inspections without major issues.
- The Blitz Bar brand is protected and strengthened through operational excellence.
Key Traits and Skills
- experience of at least 3 years in overseeing a multi-site hospitality group
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Hands-on, solutions-focused, and proactive mindset
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- High attention to detail, especially regarding store presentation and food safety
- Obsessive about customer service, team culture, and operational cleanliness
- Calm under pressure and skilled at handling problems quickly and professionally
- Passionate about growth and playing a long-term role in Blitz Bar's success
- Reliable, consistent, and highly organised
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency required for this position
- Full availability required including evenings, weekends, and public holidays to support multi-site operations
