The Opportunity

The Operations Officer is responsible for managing end‑to‑end vessel and cargo operations for MSC and slot‑operated vessels, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient execution across imports and exports.

Flexibility is essential, as operational requirements include work outside standard hours and on weekends.

What you’ll be doing

• Coordinate vessel and cargo operations with terminals and stevedores

• Manage import and export container movements, including OOG, reefer and hazardous cargo

• Prepare and lodge operational documentation and manifests

• Assign export containers and resolve loading or data discrepancies

• Support export clearance processes and regulatory submissions

• Work closely with internal Import and Export teams to resolve operational issues

What we’re looking for

• Experience in shipping or vessel operations; exposure to vessel husbandry, cargo operations or container control is an advantage

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong time management and organisational skills

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• A collaborative team player with a proactive approach

• Comfortable working flexible and weekend hours when required

• A full Australian driver’s license

• MSIC Card or willingness to obtain one
