We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Operations & Warehouse Manager to lead our warehouse, logistics, inventory, and operational functions. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the efficient movement of products, maintaining high service levels, and supporting the continued growth of the business.
The successful candidate will combine strong operational management skills with a practical, team-focused approach to warehouse and supply chain activities.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day warehouse and operational activities.
Develop and implement efficient operating procedures and workflows.
Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
Manage supplier, freight, and logistics relationships.
Coordinate inbound and outbound freight activities.
Lead warehouse receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch operations.
Maintain accurate inventory control and stock management systems.
Conduct regular stocktakes and inventory reconciliations.
Ensure warehouse organisation, cleanliness, and safety standards are maintained.
Optimise warehouse layout and storage efficiency.
Lead, mentor, and develop warehouse and operations staff.
Manage rostering, performance, training, and employee development.
Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-focused culture.
Support recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
Work closely with sales and customer service teams to ensure timely order fulfilment.
Resolve operational issues affecting customer deliveries.
Maintain service standards and customer satisfaction.
Minimum 3–5 years' experience in warehouse, logistics, or operations management.
Strong inventory and stock control experience.
Experience managing staff and leading teams.
Sound understanding of warehouse systems and operational processes.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Current forklift licence (or willingness to obtain).
Experience within building materials, timber, hardware, construction products, or wholesale distribution.
Knowledge of ERP or inventory management systems.
Experience managing third-party logistics providers and freight networks.
Continuous improvement or lean process experience.
