Operations Manager

We are hiring an Operations Manager to lead and manage the delivery of our residential building operations. This is a critical leadership role working directly with the CEO, responsible for driving performance, improving workflow, and ensuring jobs are delivered efficiently from sales through to completion.

Based at our Wheelers Hill head office, this role oversees key departments including contract administration, drafting, estimating and customer service.

We build across Melbourne and select regional areas. With strong growth plans, we are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can drive results across people, process and systems.

About the Role

You will be responsible for managing workflow across the business, ensuring jobs move efficiently from sales through to construction and handover.

This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving and operational oversight to ensure timelines, quality and customer experience standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the operations team

  • Oversee workflow from sales through to construction and completion

  • Monitor job progress, identify delays, and implement solutions

  • Drive team performance, accountability and KPI outcomes

  • Coordinate across departments to ensure smooth project delivery

  • Oversee contract administration processes and approvals

  • Review and manage job margins, forecasting and exceptions

  • Improve systems, processes and workflows across the business

  • Ensure high levels of customer service throughout the build journey

  • Liaise with external consultants, suppliers and regulatory bodies as required

What We’re Looking For
  • Strong experience in residential construction operations

  • Proven ability to manage teams and drive performance

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage workflow and priorities across multiple projects

  • High attention to detail and accountability

  • Strong communication and leadership capability

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment

What’s on Offer
  • $150,000 to $170,000 + super (total package of $168,000 to $190,400)
