The Opportunity

Based in Greensborough, this is an opportunity to join the leadership team of a growing commercial plumbing contractor and play a key role in shaping operations, developing people, strengthening client relationships, and driving business growth.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of the day-to-day operations of our plumbing division, leading a team of field staff while ensuring exceptional service delivery, strong financial performance, and positive client outcomes.

Our work includes reactive maintenance, preventative maintenance, compliance services (including TMV and backflow testing), minor projects, and plumbing asset management services delivered to commercial, government, and infrastructure clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the plumbing field team to deliver works safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

  • Oversee scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow planning to maximise productivity and service delivery.

  • Take ownership of divisional performance, including labour productivity, gross margins, profitability, and client satisfaction outcomes.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.

  • Identify tender opportunities and support the preparation of competitive submissions.

  • Monitor job profitability, labour efficiency, and materials usage.

  • Support quoting, variations, invoicing, and operational reporting.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, contractual, and industry requirements.

  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members to support their professional growth and performance.

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to achieve operational and financial objectives.

 About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a highly organised and commercially minded leader with a strong background in plumbing operations and team management.

You will have:

  • A current Victorian Plumbing Licence (mandatory).

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Plumbing Operations Manager, Service Manager, Maintenance Manager, or similar leadership role.

  • Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing operations, compliance requirements, and safety systems.

  • Demonstrated experience leading, developing, and motivating field-based teams.

  • Experience managing commercial plumbing service, maintenance, compliance, and minor project operations will be highly regarded.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.

  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience managing profitability and operational performance.

  • The ability to prioritise competing demands and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement.

  • A leadership style that promotes accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and high-quality outcomes.

 Additional Requirements
