You will also be required to:

1. Lead a highly visible community safety service

• Manage the day-to-day delivery and continuous improvement of Council’s School Crossing Supervisor Program, supporting safer travel for children, families and the wider community.

2. Make a practical road safety impact around schools

• Coordinate operational school road safety matters, crossing safety, arrival/departure issues, and support the Safe School Precincts Program.

3. Work across schools, community, contractors and internal teams

• Build strong relationships with school principals, supervisors, parents, DTP, Victoria Police, TAC, contractors and Council teams.

4. Use service data to improve safety outcomes

• Monitor incidents, enquiries, attendance, performance and trends to improve procedures, reporting, service standards and road safety outcomes.

Join us in this full-time permanent role, offering a competitive salary range of $100,066 - $108,372 plus 12% superannuation and a monthly accrued day off. This salary will increase to $102,368 - $110,865 plus 12% super and a monthly accrued day off. This position is based at Council's Tooronga Depot office which is next to Tooronga Train Station and various tram stops.

What you’ll need to succeed:

1. School Crossing Program Management

• Ideally you will have direct experience coordinating school crossing supervisors, rosters, coverage, incidents and service delivery or work of a similar nature. 

2. Road Safety Program Experience 

• Ideally you will have direct experience working on TAC-funded programs, community road safety, school safety and vulnerable road user safety roles.

3. Stakeholder Engagement Experience 

• This role works closely with schools, parents, crossing supervisors, contractors, government agencies and internal Council teams.

4. Service Delivery / Operations Management

• You may not come from transport background but have ideally you have managed public-facing operational services, complaints, contractors, procedures and performance.

5. Incident Management / Complaint Resolution

• You are comfortable responding to operational matters, incidents, complaints and service issues, with escalation where required.

6. Program Monitoring and Reporting

• You have experience using service data, trends, KPIs, grant reporting, evaluation and continuous improvement.
