The Café Operations Manager is responsible for the overall management and coordination of our multi-site hospitality operations. The role ensures efficient daily operations, staff supervision, financial performance, and high standards of customer service.

Operational Management

  • Oversee and coordinate daily operations across both the cafe locations

  • Ensure smooth service delivery, efficiency, and quality control across all trading activities

  • Monitor business performance, sales trends, and operational efficiency

Staff Management

  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff including baristas, kitchen staff, and casual employees

  • Prepare and manage staff rosters to ensure adequate coverage across locations

  • Provide leadership, direction, and performance feedback to all team members

Financial & Administrative Control

  • Manage daily financial operations including POS reconciliation and reporting

  • Monitor costs, wages, and stock levels to maintain profitability

  • Assist in budgeting and financial planning

Stock & Supplier Management

  • Oversee inventory control and ordering of all stock including coffee, food, and consumables

  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and ensure timely procurement

Customer Service & Compliance

  • Ensure high standards of customer service and handle escalated customer issues

  • Maintain compliance with food safety, health regulations, and workplace standards

  • Implement and maintain operational procedures and policies

Business Development

  • Assist in the development of marketing strategies and promotional activities

  • Support growth initiatives including expansion of catering and event services

Reports directly to the Business Owner/Director

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in hospitality operations, including supervisory or management responsibilities

  • Strong leadership and organisational skills

  • Experience in staff supervision, rostering, and operations management

  • Knowledge of POS systems, stock control, and hospitality operations

  • Ability to manage multiple service operations simultaneously
