About Nudo

Nudo is a Melbourne based wedding and events company with multiple venues and in-house catering, floristry, planning, photo & video, and stationery. We've built a reputation for doing hospitality properly - not as a catering company that happens to do weddings, but as a hospitality company that holds the standard of a great restaurant at every single event we deliver.

We're a team of 160 passionate people who take the work seriously, take each other seriously, and genuinely love what we do.

The Role

This is a full ownership role. As Operations Manager, you'll lead Nudo's venue Operations function - setting the service standard, developing leaders, overseeing venues and event operations, managing the P&L, and ensuring every experience reflects the premium hospitality standards we're known for.

You'll report directly to the CEO and play a key role in shaping how Nudo operates as we continue to grow. This is an opportunity to build capability, improve systems, and leave your mark on one of Melbourne's leading event businesses.

What you'll be doing:

  • Establish and maintain premium hospitality standards across all Nudo venues and events, ensuring exceptional service and attention to detail are non-negotiable

  • Own the Operations P&L: manage labour and operational costs, provide regular reporting to the CEO, and identify opportunities and risks before they impact performance

  • Lead a high-performing Operations team through meaningful coaching, regular feedback, and genuine investment in their development

  • Oversee venue operations, front of house catering, warehousing, logistics, maintenance, and service delivery across the business

  • Manage rostering, labour planning, stock control, and operational workflows to ensure teams are well-resourced and performing at their best

  • Oversee supplier, contractor, and maintenance relationships to ensure venues, equipment, and assets are maintained to the highest standard

  • Lead operational projects from planning through to implementation

  • Maintain compliance across venue operations, licensing, safety, and workplace standards

What we're looking for:

You're a proven operational leader with real hospitality experience and a track record of building high-performing teams. You've worked in luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, premium events, high-end venues, or similar environments and know exactly what exceptional service looks and feels like.

You understand that great hospitality doesn't happen by accident. It comes from clear standards, strong leadership, operational discipline, and people who genuinely care about the guest experience. You know how to balance strategy with execution, lead multiple moving parts without losing attention to detail, and create systems that scale without compromising quality.

Most importantly, you're someone who raises the standard wherever you go. You develop people, solve problems before they become issues, and take pride in building operations that run exceptionally well.

Experience in weddings or events is preferred, but not a dealbreaker.
