Altitude Recruitment is partnering with a growing retail and distribution business to appoint a commercially minded Finance Manager into a key leadership role.

This is an opportunity to join a dynamic, fast-paced organisation with a broad multi-brand product portfolio and a strong commercial focus. The role sits at the heart of the retail division and will suit someone who enjoys getting into the detail, influencing stakeholders, and using financial insight to drive better business decisions.

The Opportunity

As Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the financial performance of a large retail division, working across multiple brands, product lines, and sales channels. This is a highly commercial role where you will partner closely with operational leaders across sales, marketing, logistics, and planning to improve profitability, optimise inventory performance, and support strategic decision-making.

You will also lead and develop a small team, ensuring reporting and analysis is delivered accurately and at pace.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the financial performance and management reporting for a large retail division
• Deliver commercial analysis across sales, margin, rebates, channel performance, and operating costs
• Provide insight into inventory performance, stock holdings, product movement, and working capital
• Support pricing, margin, and profitability analysis across a multi-brand portfolio
• Partner with key stakeholders across sales, marketing, supply chain, and operations
• Build financial models and scenario analysis to support business decisions
• Identify risks, opportunities, and process improvement initiatives
• Lead, coach, and develop direct reports within the finance team

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Proven experience as a Finance Manager, or a senior commercial/management accountant ready to step up
• Background in a product-based environment, ideally retail, wholesale, distribution, or consumer goods
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret data and influence decision-making
• Experience working across multi-brand, multi-channel, or complex trading environments
• Strong inventory, margin, and operational finance understanding
• A hands-on approach with the ability to operate at pace
• Previous team leadership or mentoring experience
• Excellent communication skills and confidence partnering with non-finance stakeholders
