Ferguson Plarre's Bakehouse at Waverley Gardens is seeking an experienced Retail Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Waverley Gardens store in a management capacity. This role is responsible for delivering excellent customer service, supporting team performance, and ensuring smooth store operations in line with our brand values and high standards.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee daily store operations and ensure effective retail performance.

  • Lead, motivate, and supervise retail team members.

  • Maintain excellent customer service standards and resolve customer concerns professionally.

  • Proactively manage stock control, merchandising, ordering, and inventory levels.

  • Initiate and implement purchasing strategies and ensure pricing and promotional strategies are executed in line with company budgeting goals.

  • Monitor sales performance, store presentation, and compliance with company procedures.

  • Manage the store’s budget and financial reporting, in line with revenue forecasting, managing expenses, and ensuring financial accuracy

  • Oversee the recruitment, selection, and induction of new staff; manage ongoing performance development and professional training programs as well as rostering.

  • Prepare staff rosters and support workforce planning.

  • Ensure workplace health and safety requirements are followed.

  • Work closely with management to actively contribute to business goals and store growth.

Selection criteria

  • Relevant Diploma qualification or higher.

  • At least 12 months of experience in the same role or a closely related role.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage retail operations in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in customer service, team supervision, budgeting , stock control, and sales targets.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays as required.
