About the role

We are seeking Part time Medical Laboratory Scientists to join our dedicated team within the Knox Laboratory situated in Wantirna, Victoria.

Your role will be to participate in the day-to-day operation of the laboratory, working as part of a dedicated team.  The position is multi-disciplinary in nature and will require the successful candidate to perform duties in all areas of the laboratory including Pre-Analytical, Haematology (including Morphology), Coagulation, Biochemistry and Transfusion. Duties include urgent and routine bench work, maintenance of instrumentation and equipment and compliance with accreditation and quality assurance requirement. The preferred applicants will be flexible, punctual, self-motivated, display initiative and be able to work with minimal supervision.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Laboratory Science or an AIMS accredited equivalent as a minimum.

  • High attention to detail and experience working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to multitask and successfully work as part of a team.

  • Exceptional communication, time management & organisational skills.

  • The ability to contribute towards the delivery of customer focused services.

  • Have own transport and be able to take part in weekend and evening rosters including public holidays.

  • Previous experience working in a core laboratory would be considered highly desirable.
