KUNI:K is seeking a highly skilled Senior Hair Extension Specialist to join our growing, high-end salon team in Hawthorn East, Melbourne. This full-time role (38 hours per week) is ideal for an experienced hairdresser who is passionate about delivering premium hair transformations, maintaining hair integrity, and providing exceptional client experiences.

The successful candidate will work in a modern, spacious salon environment specialising in luxury hair extensions, fine hair, and hair loss solutions while servicing a loyal and growing clientele.

The role requires strong technical expertise across multiple extension methods, excellent consultation skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high professional standards and customer satisfaction.

Task & responsibilities

  • Perform advanced hair extension services including: 
    • Weft extensions (hand-tied and machine weft)  
    • Keratin bond / fusion extensions 
    • Micro bead / nano bead methods 
    • Hair topper applications
  • Conduct detailed client consultations and create customised extension plans 
  • Colour match, cut, blend, and style hair extensions to a high standard 
  • Maintain hair health and provide professional aftercare advice to clients 
  • Perform maintenance services including refits, removal, and reinstallation 
  • Stay up to date with current hair trends, products, and extension techniques 
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and professional workspace 
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and build long-term client relationships 
  • Work collaboratively within the salon team while also being capable of working independently 
  • Assist in maintaining the salon’s premium brand image and client experience

Qualification & experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience specialising in hair extensions 
  • Relevant hairdressing qualification
  • Experience in colouring and styling highly regarded 
  • Advanced skills across multiple hair extension methods 
  • Strong eye for detail, blending, and colour matching 
  • Proven portfolio of previous work (photos and/or social media) 
  • Excellent communication and consultation skills 
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment 
  • Passion for premium and luxury hair services 
  • Social media content creation skills (Instagram/TikTok) advantageous 
  • Experience working with premium or high-end extension brands desirable
