As a Painter, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces for painting, mixing and applying paints and finishes, maintaining painting equipment, and ensuring all work is completed to a high standard. The role involves working on a variety of surfaces and structures, interpreting job specifications, selecting appropriate materials and techniques, and complying with workplace health and safety requirements. You will also coordinate with supervisors, clients, and team members to ensure projects are completed on schedule while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Painter to join our construction and maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for the following tasks and responsibilities:

Tasks and Responsibilities

1.Setting up scaffolding, ladders, and protective coverings to shield surrounding surfaces and furnishings from paint splashes and damage
2. Preparing surfaces by removing old paint or wallpaper, repairing woodwork, filling cracks and holes, and sanding and sealing for a smooth finish
3.Mixing and preparing paints to achieve the desired colours and consistency using pigments, oils, and appropriate thinning or drying agents
4.Applying paint, varnish, and stains to a range of surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray-painting equipment
5.Hanging wallpaper with precise pattern matching and neatly finished edges
6.Cleaning, storing, and maintaining tools, equipment, and workspaces after completing tasks
7.Repairing windows and replacing broken glass in both wooden and metal frames when required

Qualifications and Experience
AQF Certificate III
Or AQF Certificate IV
