An exciting opportunity exists to join a growing and successful Australian-owned engineering business. Due to continued growth, Aldus Engineering is seeking two experienced CNC Machinists / Programmers to join our team at our West Heidelberg facility.

We specialize in precision machining and are looking for skilled professionals with experience in 5-axis machining and Mill-Turn (multi-axis lathe) applications, with the capability to program, set up, and operate CNC equipment.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for manufacturing precision components in accordance with engineering drawings, job specifications, and production schedules. You will work within a quality-accredited environment, contributing to efficient and high-quality production outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC 5-axis machines and Mill-Turn lathes

  • Manufacture components to specification and within required timeframes

  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings and job sheets

  • Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards

  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Minimum 5 years’ trade experience in CNC machining

  • Proven experience with 5-axis machining and/or Mill-Turn operations

  • Experience with Okuma and Mazak machines (advantageous)

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

  • Relevant trade or tertiary qualification in Engineering / Manufacturing

  • Understanding of production methodologies, Lean principles, and quality systems (advantageous)

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

  • Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Good communication skills
