Majha Side Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced full-time Carpenter to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in constructing, repairing, assembling and installing wooden structures and fixtures across residential and commercial construction projects. This position plays an important role in supporting the successful completion of carpentry and building works to a high standard and within project timelines.

Task & responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine project requirements and required materials.
• Marking up slabs using measurements and layout tools to indicate the position of walls, windows, doors and other components.
• Measuring, cutting and shaping wood and other materials as required.
• Installing framing, windows, doors, trusses, mouldings and other structural or decorative elements.
• Assembling frameworks, partitions and rafters with precision and proper alignment.
• Assembling and fastening cut and shaped parts using nails, screws and other fasteners to construct frameworks, structures and fittings.
• Coordinating with supervisors, project managers and other trades to ensure smooth workflow and compliance with plans.
• Delivering high-quality carpentry work and maintaining a professional standard on all tasks.
• Assisting with material handling and reporting any shortages or material requirements.
• Following workplace safety procedures and contributing to a safe job site environment.
• Maintaining tools and equipment in clean and functional condition.
• Identifying and resolving routine issues encountered during carpentry and framing work.
• Participating in routine team meetings and toolbox talks.
• Supporting co-workers and contributing to a positive and productive team environment.

Qualification & experience

• AQF Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent qualification.
• At least 1-2 years of full-time, or part-time equivalent, work experience as a Carpenter.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Valid construction safety card / White Card.
• Valid Australian driver licence.
• Sound knowledge of construction materials, tools and workplace safety requirements.
• Must hold or be able to obtain lawful work rights in Australia.
