About the role

P & R Commercial Refrigeration is seeking a Refrigeration Mechanic Apprentice to join our team in Campbellfield, VIC. This is an exciting full-time apprenticeship opportunity that will provide you with comprehensive training in refrigeration and air conditioning systems. As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced technicians, developing practical skills and theoretical knowledge whilst contributing to the delivery of high-quality refrigeration solutions for our commercial clients. This role is essential in building the next generation of skilled refrigeration professionals in our industry.

Candidates must have valid Australian work rights to be eligible for this apprenticeship position.

What you'll be doing

1. Assisting experienced refrigeration mechanics with the installation, maintenance and repair of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems

2. Learning to diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration equipment faults under supervision

3. Performing routine maintenance tasks including cleaning, checking pressures and replacing components

4. Assisting with the assembly and disassembly of refrigeration systems and components

5. Safely handling and recovering refrigerants in accordance with environmental regulations

6. Attending training and theory sessions to complete your apprenticeship qualifications

7. Keeping detailed records of work completed and equipment serviced

8. Maintaining a safe and organised work environment on job sites and in the workshop

9. A current P1 or higher driver's licence is required for travel to various job sites

8. Year 10 or equivalent education (or equivalent work experience considered)
