Additional information:

  • This role is Permanent Full-time, 76hrs/fortnight

  • The internal job title for this role is Carpenter Co-worker

  • To be considered for this role you must be available to work Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm, with flexibility to work regular weekend, evening and public holidays when required to meet business needs

  • While not essential, a Certificate III in Carpentry will be viewed favourably

 

About this work area

As Carpenter Co-worker your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting to positioning the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing in your local market through securing high-quality carpentry and paintwork all throughout the store.

  • Following work briefs to implement custom display solutions, including painting, tiling, floor laying, wall install and the building of complex furniture installations.

  • Secure high quality, simple and cost-conscious results in the execution of work by using best practises and following routines.

  • Assisting the Communication & Interior team with ad hoc tasks and to ensure the store is always in shape as new.


Who you are

As a Carpenter Co-worker you are and/or you have:

  • Previous carpentry experience, preferably in a commercial setting

  • A deep passion for quality, craftsmanship and home furnishings.

  • Comfortable with physical work, such as repetitive lifting and climbing ladders

  • A practical, hands-on mindset, where you show a strong willingness to get involved.

  • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and can meet tight deadlines while upholding quality.

  • Confident and safety-conscious when performing tasks such as painting, drilling, furniture installation and heavy lifting.

  • Strong communication skills
