About the Role

Evans Leather Repair is seeking a Restoration Specialist to join our Melbourne CBD workshop.

This hands-on role focuses on colour restoration, colour matching, and refinishing across a wide range of materials including leather, suede, nubuck, fabric, and luxury accessories.

Prior dyeing experience is highly regarded; however, it is not essential. We are open to training the right candidate and are looking for someone with a genuine interest in developing long-term skills within a specialist trade.

This is an in-store role working alongside experienced craftspeople in a family business that has been operating since 1956.

Key Responsibilities

• Cleaning and preparing items prior to restoration

• Mixing custom dyes to achieve accurate colour matches

• Colour restoration of footwear, handbags, and leather goods

• Colour changes across a range of materials

• Working with leather, suede, nubuck, fabric, and specialty materials

• Maintaining a clean and organised workspace

• Following established restoration processes and quality standards

• Handling luxury footwear, handbags, and accessories with a high level of care and attention to detail

Essential Requirements

• Full working rights in Australia

• Available to work a minimum of 3 days per week (9am–6pm)

• Able to work on-site in our Melbourne CBD workshop

• Strong attention to detail and colour perception

• Comfortable working with luxury footwear, handbags, and accessories

• Seeking a long-term role rather than short-term or seasonal employment

• Previous experience in a trade, workshop, manufacturing, alterations, repair, upholstery, tanning, or restoration environment is highly regarded

What We're Looking For

• Excellent colour perception and an eye for colour matching

• Patient and methodical approach to work

• Reliable and punctual

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Willingness to learn specialist restoration techniques

• An appreciation for craftsmanship and working with luxury goods

Why Join Us?

• Full training provided
